Heavy Hands is like a stew, a bubbling cauldron of secret ingredients, spiced with just a teensy dash of Motorhead, maybe a quarter-teaspoon of Jesus Lizard in the rhythm section, a pinch of something reminiscent of Drive Like Jehu in the leads. Not only does this clearly smell like rock, but it is also a sensorial aphrodisiac. A stew so potent it transports you mystically to the origin of the species. To its primal beginnings. The pounding drums, the slippery sensation of voice sliding against strings – you can’t help but want to pour it all over you.
