PENDANT has announced a remix EP titled Caustic Pop Remixes, out November 17th. Today you can hear remixes from Baths for the single “Static Dream” and Water From Your Eyes for “Contract”, highlights from his stellar Saddle Creek debut, Harp. Other remixers include Jay Som, Airball (Joojoo Ashworth of Froth), No Joy, ill peach, and Wreck & Reference. A lush, surprising body of work from producer and songwriter Chris Adams, Harp connects 90s house and rave music with hip-hop, shoegaze, and pop, so it’s only fitting that Adams enlisted some of his favorite artists to give it the remix treatment. Speaking on Bath’s contributions, he says “I’ve been a Baths fan for well over a decade. I learned to program an MPD32 from watching dozens of videos of him performing live. Will has had a big impact on the way I make music, and this remix is no exception. I want to shake my ass and messy cry through this whole track.”
With Trying Not to Have a Thought, Algernon Cadwallader juggle intrinsic musical connection and shrewd lyrical intention with remarkable poise. The 21st installment of Saddle Creek’s Document series features Whitmer Thomas, a multi-hyphenate whose unique vision has percolated across a range of mediums including TV, film, podcasts, and music. Tilt was recorded in Los Angeles with Jay Som and features contributions from Ian Farmer (Slaughter Beach Dog, Modern Baseball).
