With a handful of well known favorites such as the spacey apocalyptic ode "Citizens of Tomorrow," and the set closing self-proclamation "Cheer It On," Canuck post-punkers Tokyo Police Club kept the crowd at San Francisco's Independent in place last night (March 24), blasting through much of their old material, while unveiling a plethora of new tunes with a sharp, no-frills precision.

New cuts like the full-bodied "Graves," as well as chant-along number "Your English is Good," bolstered the band's set and left many salivating for Elephant Shell, Tokyo Police Club's much-anticipated forthcoming debut full-length, out April 22 on Saddle Creek. Pausing only briefly under the high-octane lighting for the occasional "thank you," the boys offered a fine exhibition of the exact, upbeat rock responsible for making Tokyo Police Club a household name amongst the indie rock bloggerati and industry movers-and-shakers alike.

We asked: If there was a real Tokyo Police Club, what would one need to do to join?
