As anyone familiar with Cursive's oeuvre knows Omaha native Tim Kasher has never been one to mince words. So the flurry of self-aware lyrics that open Kasher's "Bigamy" EP is striking but not surprising. "I patrol the bar with my gut sucked in/ Trying to find my next victim," Kasher sings on "No Harmony." Then: "'Cause the ugliest men always think they can do better/ They've been hypnotized by the magazine covers." It's typical of the bold, brave way Kasher strikes a chord with his audience, framed here as usual in the strain of emo folk-rock he pioneered alongside former Commander Venus bandmate Conor Oberst ? wide-eyed, heavy-hearted, corn-fed.
