The Game of Monogamy
Author: Chris Bosman
Tim Kasher has worn a lot of hats, from the bleeding heart immediacy of his work with Cursive, to the tough guy's Ben Gibbard in Saddle Creek band the Good Life. On his recently released solo album, The Game of Monogoamy, Kasher takes off his hats and puts on his dancing shoes. Following up on the poppy "Cold Love," Kasher brings us "I'm Afraid I'm Gonna Die Here," which bursts with shimmying side-to-side energy, where bursts of horn, frantically smiling hand claps and even the floating bridge seem more concerned with causing motion than emotion. It's a good look for the perpetually serious Kasher, showing he's still got tricks up his usually heart-decorated sleeves. Check out "I'm Afraid" below.
