What's your nickname for your town?
OmahGod! I'm kidding.
Why do you live there?
I was born here. It's inexpensive, centrally located for tour. Many friends here.
What is your favorite local attraction (monument, park, etc)?
Filmstreams Movie Theater.
What is your favorite local event/festival?
I'm not sure we have favorite local events/festivals here… but if we do, it's likely food related.
What is the best time of year to be there?
Probably now (early fall). One of the few times of the year when the weather is wonderfully temperate.
Who is your favorite local celebrity/personality?
Roger Lewis!!! Infamous drummer of The Good Life. AKA Tyrone Storm.
Where is the best place to drink and what's their specialty or happy hour?
There are many good bars here. There's been a tradition to hit The Underwood for cheap big beers (Kiefers) over Happy Hour.
Who has the best jukebox (and what's in it)?
Brother's has a good jukebox. Lots of older local bands!
What is your favorite place to see live music and what was your favorite show there?
We have some good rooms these days, but I'll mention a junkier, older venue: O'Leaver's. Just saw an AMAZING show there, a Minneapolis band called Birthday Suits.
What is your favorite local band?
Currently it's Conduits – also excited about Noah's Ark Was a Spaceship.
What is your favorite diner or restaurant and what is their best dish?
Hmm… today it's Barrett's and I love their Patty Melt. Wow that sounded boring.
What is your favorite local publication (alternative weekly, zine, website or blog)?
Lazy-i.com: he's a good guy, keeps up with just about everything in local/touring music.
