The Game of Monogamy

"Cold Love" is certainly a Tim Kasher joint in subject, though I'll admit that it took me a few listens to sidle up to the sound. It's so poppy?

Bear in mind, the closest I've ever come to putting that adjective next to Tim Kasher's name was when I mistook "Bowl of Oranges" for a Cursive track on an indie mix my friend had made. Obviously, this was before I discovered The Ugly Organ. If you're familiar with Cursive, I don't have to tell you that the group isn't writing for radio.

And that's fine; it's awesome. Few groups externalize anger and frustration, love and heartbreak as viscerally as Cursive.

So, "Cold Love" is a bit of a departure, but it's not bad. In fact, I'm pretty sure it'll be awesome once I've fully acclimated myself.

You can download "Cold Love" for free over at iLike, and watch for Tim Kasher's solo album The Game of Monogamy, which should be hitting on October 5.
