The Game of Monogamy
Author: Samuel Duke
A Tim Kasher solo record might seem like a rather superfluous thing—he's made many excellent, hyperpersonal albums with his main band, Cursive, plus he's got that other hyperpersonal band, The Good Life. But putting your own name on something is a pretty nice feeling, and that is essentially why we have The Game Of Monogamy and its musically lively (but, of course, lyrically morose) first single, "Cold Love," which kind of sounds like The Cars. Or really, Cursive covering The Cars, which is something we did not know we wanted to hear, but are very glad we did. The album's out October 5 through Saddle Creek.
