So, you're in this smoky night club in Omaha, and this band starts playing a bizarre twist of slowly swinging jazzy pianos with noise rock and shock-provoking lyrics. You might be a little shaken up by what you see, but you also just might like it. The Good Life has something both jarring and strangely amusing going on with their fourth release. Album Of The Year starts off with a little love song just to set the mood...sure, we've all heard our fair share of love songs—but there's just something special about the one that starts with the line "The fist time that I met her I was throwing up in the ladies' room stall."Vocalist Time Kasher knows how to hit every note with perfect pitch and timing, leaving you swooning with despair and dark humor. Love it or leave it, this album will paint you a portrait of romance gone horribly wrong, inject your ears with a searing dose of cynicism and ultimately leave you a better person for it.
