When he's not rocking out with Cursive, Tim Kasher is leading The Good Life. The ironically named Nebraska quartet's captivating "Album of the Year" (Saddle Creek) is relationship situationalism at its finest, a moody indie-rock set filled with narratives where lovers belly up to the bar, spill their guts and desperately try to please equally flawed partners before realizing the hopelessness of their ways. Kasher sings as if he's both personally experienced the heartbreaking emotions and been on each side of the equation, mustering empathy for the victims and pity for the fools. The Good Life, at Abbey Pub, 3420 W. Grace St. $12-$14. 773-478-4408.
