08/01/2000 | Too Broke To Rock | Album Review
Duran Duran meets Elvis Costello meets Depeche Mode, and the ghost of the late, great Timmy Taylor possesses all of 'em. This is a very short record (after all, it's new wave!) but this little nugget packs a lovely little one-two-three "should-have-and-would-have-been-hits-had-this-been-1983" punch. When I bought this, I just couldn't stop listening to it. I swear I listened to it about five times in a row. This little piece of ear candy will put a smile on your face and make you forget about all your problems. Like candy, you just want to gobble it up. It's not a deep record, but who cares? It's neat to hear these kinds of sounds being made again.
