Let It Rest

3/18/2003 | The Whipping Post | Album Review
Another solid rock release from the guys and gals at Saddle Creek. I swear, it seems that every band that I've heard lately coming out of Omaha has rocked my ass off.
Cursive gave a shout out to these guys in a recent interview, and I must admit that they were on button on this one(even though they have a foosball ass-whoopin' coming). Anyway, I digress.
The unincumbered sound of more traditional rock and roll contained in this album is a breath of fresh air.
Sorry About Dresden offers the kind of music that is light-hearted and makes little-to-no attempt to impose ill-placed pseudo-love songs on listeners.
The organ adds the perfect element to the straight-ahead rock of the album. And, they bring in a lap steel guitar on “Perfect Posture" and “this House Unhomed" which is always cool.
Let It Rest is definitely rock music that you can dance to with a few calm interludes included.
