Let It Rest

Tomich, Matty, Hep, and Eric are not the names of the Beatles-spoofing Rutles, but the names of members of a crafty new combo out of North Carolina called Sorry About Dresden.
“Beds and Lawns" kicks off this disc in manic fashion, while the eerie “Frozen in Mid-gesture" and the acoustic “Relax, It's Tuesday," reflect a mature band that at the same time doesn't take itself too seriously.
“The Approaching Dusk" is a moody pop gem that grabbed me with its melencholy guitars and autumnal lyrics.
“Autumn left as it came, cludy but the leaves have all changed/colder, yeah, winter is here/freezing, and crisp and so clear." This is the sort of song I have been a sucker for ever since I started listening to the Smiths and about every band on the now-defunct Sarah Records label.
Recording for the Omaha, Neb.-based Saddle Creek Records label, you can find out more about this delightful new band at www.sorryaboutdresden.com.
