Well, finally we've got some indie fools who've figured out how to be clever and dour yet not come off like that surly kid in school you felt sorry for but beat the shit out of anyway. You can relate to some bands but still be annoyed but their disregard for worldly perspective. Not so for Son, Ambulance who have traded in sappy austerity for self picking. By giving in sophomoric introspection for quirk they tap into the type of levity that only the likes of Eggs know. And that levity speaks volumes more about who you are than the over-serious intelligentsia that typically pollutes our review bins.
