I'm listening to this disc and trying to think why it sounds familiar. And it finally came to me about 15 or 20 minutes into it – it sounds a bit like the stuff Bill Nelson was doing in the mid 1980s. That's a compliment, by the way. Bill Nelson's stuff is timeless, and still sounds as fresh today as it did then. It's a little more rockin' than Bill Nelson, but it has a lot of the same qualities. There's a relaxed, smooth feeling, but it has a grandness to it, at the same time. "Fall Back Open," the fifth track on the disc, is an excellent example of this. Good stuff.
