In his early days, Bob Dylan told tales of a life on the rails, with no home and no goals. He was bullshitting. For Robinson, the tale-telling is true: addiction, homelessness, desperation, all poured into a collapsing shell. Working with TV on the Radio's Kyp Malone, Robinson pores over Dylan, as well as Springsteen and Petty, coming out the other side with a mush-mouthed breakup record and a sharp valediction: all scruff, no bluff.
