Maria Taylor, vocalist extraordinaire and one-half of Athens, Geo., duo Azure Ray, is prepping for a U.S. tour in support of her debut solo effort 11:11, which came out May 24. The record, no surprise, is on Saddle Creek Records, also home to Azure Ray and to Taylor's bandmate Orenda Fink, who, incidentally, is also putting out a solo record. As previously reported on Pitchfork, 11:11 features cameos by Cursive's Gretta Cohn, Andy LeMaster (Saddle Creek's omnipresent producer and a member of) Now It's Overhead) and, most notably, Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis. LeMaster and Mogis each chipped in producing and engineering the record.

Taylor will co-headline the tour with Statistics, the solo side project of Desaparecidos guy Denver Dalley, who is still attempting to crawl out from the shadow of the aforementioned Mr. Oberst. We wish him the best of luck-- with the tour, we mean, though if the crawling isn't going well, we can sympathize with that, too.
