Omaha's Saddle Creek Records, probably forever famous for introducing such luminaries as Bright Eyes and The Good Life to the world, show us they aren't afraid to turn up the volume, too, via Ladyfinger's sophomore effort, Dusk.

With stomping rhythms, loud, anthemic songs and classic rock guitar riffs, there is no doubt Ladyfinger (ne) have their roots firmly planted in 70's arena rock. But these guys keep things interesting by bringing garage, prog and math rock to the table as well.

With a release date of Feb. 3, this is the first great disc of 2009. Fans of Queens of the Stone Age and Foo Fighters should take a listen.
