Screw winter. The debut record from co-ed duo Georgie James is just the blast of sunshine to fight off encroaching Seasonal Affective Disorder as the weather goes to hell. Laura Burhenn and ex-Q and Not U drummer John Davis barb their bracing, retrofit power-pop with smart lyrics about middle-class paranoia and soldiers marched into early graves, adding another fine layer to an album that's already deeper and more diverse than it first appears. A new fave.
