Cello player Gretta Cohn grew up listening to Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet," but these day she'd rather listen to Radiohead or Pavement. Or her own band, Cursive.
Top Five Favorite Albums:
1. Rachel's, "Music for Egon Schiele." Rachel's makes beautiful, nuanced music.
2. Unwound, "New Plastic Ideas" or "Challenge for a Civilized Society."
3. Sleater-Kinney, "Sleater-Kinney". I love this band. They are my heroes.
4. DNA, "A Taste of DNA," or "Last Live at CBGB"s."
5. Any of John Zorn's "Masada" recordings. Zorn defined an entire sound.

What's in your stereo right now? LeTigre, "Le Tigre."

First Concert? They Might Be Giants at Suffolk Community College on Long Island, N.Y., where I grew up. I was 12 or so. I remember "pogo-ing."

First album you bought? Bon Jovi, "Slippery When Wet." I was in fourth grade or so, and I remember hearing it on the bus to school every morning. Plus, it was an instrument of torture. I would force my two younger brothers to dance to it with me in the living room. I still have that record.

What is your most memorable concert? Calvin Johnson and Adam Green (impromptu) at, a cyber-hip coffee bar on Avenue A in New ork City.

What concert are you dying to go to ? The Kinks.

What's a good driving album? Pavement, "Slanted and Enchanted."

What's a good album to make out to? Radiohead, "Amnesiac."

Who is your dream supergroup? Brendan Canty and Steve Shelly on drums; Bjork and Ian Svenonius on vocals; Carrie Brownstein and Johnny Greenwood from Radiohead on guitars; Matt Maginn on bass--he's the only bassist for me; and Glen Danzig on security detail.

Best movie about music? That movie that tells the story about the theremin (the first electronical musical intrument to be invented). I saw it in my electronic music class in college. Pure riveting cinema.

What's the best song on the radio right now? THe new Outkast. I think it's great social commentary. The chorus is just brilliant.

What't the worst song on the radio right now? I did see a video for a song called "Too Bad" by Nickelback. It's too bad that I had to hear it. It was horrible.
