'Domestica' on Saddle Creek
A long time ago I order a Silver Scooter/Cursive split 10" in the mail. I never got the record. From that point on I irrationally decided that both of those bands sucked because I never got my record. Shit was I wrong about Cursive. Cursive play music that could be described as “post" hardcore or “emo" punk or “indie" pop. I like to call this stuff “brutalbrokenheartedwussierock." The songs are heavey at times but also light and melodic. Lots of cool song writing. The lyrics are great, romance, resentment, lust and love. This record is the perfect gift for someone who's just gotten their heart ripped out. It made me want to break up with my ex all over again! Someone told me that one of the guys in this band recently went through a divorce, which became the fuel that fires this record. if its true, buddy I feel your pain.
