Burst and Bloom

This much anticipated new EP from Cursive was happily listened to by yours truly. I always thought Cursive was good, but after Domestica, their last album, I was sold on their unique sound. Burst and Bloom only solidifies that feeling. The opening tune, a tongue and cheek poke at themselves and the business side of music, sets the mood for
what is a great five tracks. Cursive are able to capture a power and potency in their music that few "emo" bands still can even attempt to reach. This is the real emo, if anything is, and puts all the other radio-friendly garbage being made in the trash.
