Mama, I'm Swollen

Cursive played to a sold out crowd at Maxwell's in Hoboken, a club that Cursive seems to be frequenting as of the past year or so. I am not sure Cursive's reasoning for continuing to play clubs that they are a bit too small for them, but I support it. Opening the show was The Love Language who played a tight set of energetic indie pop. The band from what I understand has only been around for a year, but they play like a band that has been on the road for 5. You should definitely check them out live and their debut cd which is self-titled.

As usual, Cursive slayed. They played a long set with a decent mix of their albums as well as a David Bowie cover. My only complaint was that I would have enjoyed to hear some more songs off Mama, I'm Swollen. The crowd in front of the stage took to fist pumping and crowd surfing which is somewhat uncommon at Maxwell's. Set list and photos are below.
