Omaha, Neb.'s Cursive has been called emo, but the band's music has little to do with all those interchangeable youngsters with the pop-punk songs, the dyed-black bangs and the eyeliner. The music is emotional, all right, and Tim Kasher knows how to scream, but it's thought-provoking and grown-up as well. For the new "Mama, I'm Swollen," the core band is augmented with winds, strings and horns. At 9 p.m. Saturday, the band performs at Great American Music Hall, 859 O'Farrell St., San Francisco. Tickets are $18 at www.gamh tickets.com. or 1-888-233-0449.
