Cursive's Domestica

6/19/2000 | Ready Set Aesthetic Magazine | Album Review
If any band could rightfully be called an "emo" band it might just be
Cursive. And I'm not necessarily talking about their sound, I'm talking
about what they're singing/screaming about. Cursive main guy, Tim Kasher,
got married and then after sometime got divorced."Cursive's Domestica"
while supposedly not autobiographical, addresses this emotional trip,
focusing on the love/hate reality of a lot of relationships. It would seem
that Mr.Kasher experience mostly the dark side of love and it's that anger
and disappointment that fuel the intensity of these songs. That and the
nice, chunky guitar sound. Not exactly an uplifting album, especially for a
married person such as myself (sorry ladies!). But it is indeed a strong
bunch of songs that will make your relationship with your significant other
look better than ever.
