Back with dark, emotionally-charged rock is this four-piece from Omaha. The vocals are sincere and intense - delivering heartfelt lyrics of disappointment and depression. Pounding out the feelings, the music moves at changing paces, working with the mood, whether upbeat or slowed down. There are similarities to Braid throughout this record, more than I've noticed on past Cursive releases - but that is not a bad thing. Each of the nine songs on Domestica tells a story - not a happy story - but a story loaded with melody, energy, and heartbreak.
