Bright Eyes, Oct. 22, Bluebird - Backed by about a dozen musicians, Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst said an intimate farewell to his most recent tour in a moving set that bridged emotion like Oberst's voice spans pitches. Oberst's sharp but youthful lyrics, delivered in his idyllic yearning voice, entranced the capacity crowd. No matter which instrument he cradled, Oberst and his powerful Dylan-like demeanor moved through his repertoire for nearly two hours. Intimate and emotional, the set resembled a back-porch Sunday afternoon jam more than a concert, and Oberst accepted the crowd as his extended family.
