Conor Oberst has dusted off his Bright Eyes band-cum-alter ego for an eighth studio album, Pitchfork reports. 'The People's Key' will be released on Feb. 15 via -- as usual -- Oberst's own Saddle Creek label. The record follows up 2007's 'Cassadega,' but represents a comeback of sorts for the Bright Eyes moniker after a period of side-projects and solo efforts from the singer-songwriter.

In 2008 and 2009 Oberst released LPs -- 'Conor Oberst' and 'Outer South' -- with his new Mystic Valley Band backing collective, while also in 2009 Monsters of Folk -- the indie-rocker's supergroup with M. Ward and My Morning Jacket's Jim James -- issued a debut effort.

For 'The People's Key', Oberst has reunited with permanent Bright Eyes backers Mike Mogis (who also plays with Monsters of Folk) Nate Walcott (a Mystic Valley Band player) while, as usual, the core trio have hooked up with a variety of guest performers. Musicians from Cursive, the Faint, Autolux, Now it's Overhead, Berg Sans Nipple and the Mynabirds all joined Oberst and Co. at the group's ARC studios in Omaha, Nebraska, during the making of the disc.

Thus far, Bright Eyes only have two dates in support of their new release: March 9 at New York's Radio City Music Hall and June 23 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
