Fevers and Mirrors

Bright Eyes - Fever and Mirrors (Saddle Creek) If melancholy and angst appeal to you then run out and buy this disc. The desperate longing and heartbreak come through in the lyrics of every track enhanced by the vocals of the lead singer. Yet not every track is slow and moving. There are some surprisingly upbeat songs like A Scale, A Mirror and those Indifferent Clocks, The Calendar Hung Itself and Haligh, Haligh, A Lie, Haligh which is a depressing ditty about a man scorned by his lover. Feeling lonely and blue? Put this disc on and you will know that you are not alone.
