Every Day and Every Night

Indie rock lives! Ha ha ha! But no, really. Conor Oberst (a.k.a. Bright
Eyes) is lo-fi in the best melodramatic, me-against-the-world sense, acting
out his acoustic-guitar arias as if his young life was being bound and
gagged. Here, a hired band (pedal steel, keyboards, drums) gives the
songs' stricken lyrics/melodies a decent mattress to collapse on, but
mostly Oberst just stands and quivers.
