Denver-Music.com now has a series called "Featured Artist and Song of the Day." Some of the songs you may have heard, others you may have not. This series will try to help you, the music fan, in finding some new artists, or give you a chance to listen to a song you've hopefully already grown to love. It will also bring an opportunity to buy some CD's, and give the information you'll need to see some of the featured artist's shows when they come around your area. Colorado is very fortunate to be a fixture for many talented musicians as they make their way across the country on tour, and has incredible venues in which music fans can see shows, like Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Ogden Theatre, the Denver Fillmore, the Bluebird Theater, the Fox Theatre, and the Boulder Theater, to name a few. Many of the songs will be by artists who will be making their way to the venues near you. Also, if you have a song or artist you'd like to see as the "Featured Artist or Song of the Day" leave it at the comment section of this page, leave it on the Denver Music Facebook Page, or contact me via Twitter. I hope you enjoy the series, and enjoy their music as much as I do. Today's "Featured Artist and Song of the Day" showcases the talented duo, Big Harp, with their song, "White Hat," from the album, White Hat. It is their debut album on Saddle Creek Records and is due out September 13th. The duo is comprised of the husband/wife combo of Chris Senseney (vocals, guitar, keyboards), and Stefanie Drootin-Senseney (bass, backing vocals). The album was recorded in LA, at the famed Nightindale studio, in only three days, which is unreal. They're awaiting the release of the album, and the chance to get out there and perform their songs, as they'll be packing up their minivan, with their two chidren and trailer in tow, this Fall. Colorado hopes for a tour date, and Denver Music will be sure to publish their tour schedule once it is known. Lyrics always catch my ear, and these words find their place in the song, "White Hat," "White hat don't it get old sometimes Everybody really wants to know All the black hats out havin' a little fun What do you really got to show? White hat ain't it cruel sometimes When everyone needs to be saved Don't you want to get off the old white mare And give somebody else the reins?..." For updates, tour dates, and other news click on their Facebook Page, and you can check out their record label page, Saddle Creek Records for additonal information. They'll be releasing a tour schedule soon, so until the next time you'll be able to see a show or listen to them, here is Big Harp, with their song, "White Hat," through a Dickies Sound Session, enjoy,
