Techno star Moby joined rock act Azure Ray on stage last night (Dec. 3) in West Hollywood, Calif. Azure Ray, in the midst of a co-headlining tour with Crooked Fingers, first collaborated with Moby on "Great Escape," a song which appears on his 2002 V2 album "18." The song, which was co-written with the band's Orenda Fink and Maria Taylor, closed Azure Ray's hour-long set at the Troubadour.

Moby watched much of band's performance from the audience, standing a couple feet from the stage. The bespectacled dance maven then strapped on a guitar for the delicate "Great Escape," providing the song's sole music accompaniment. Moby will also perform tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Apple's outlet in the Grove Mall at the L.A. Farmer's Market.

Saddle Creek act Azure Ray will wrap its North American tour Dec. 12 in Omaha, Neb. The group is touring in support of recent CD "Hold On Love," and can also be heard on the two-disc "The Amos House Collection, Vol. III," which features Wilco, Spoon, Super Furry Animals and Califone, among others.

In other Moby news, the artist will participate Sunday in nationwide "house party" screenings of the documentary "Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War." The event will also double as a fundraiser for, an organization dedicated to defeating President George W. Bush in the 2004 election. For more information, visit
